Debian Install

| | Comments (1)

I got tired of mandrake... So out of curiosity and some boredom I'm installing debian linux linux on my spare computer at work.

All I really want to do is to get mysql, apache and mod_perl to play nicely with each other. I've never really done that before on my own. Linux has been a constant/nonconstant battle for me. Let me explain. About every 6 to 8 months I go back to Linux. I read the manuals, I read the man pages, surf the forums, play with it for a month or so, get frustraged as h3ll when things don't work the way I want them to, and then return back to Bill. ( Microsoft Windows )

Maybe this time things will be different. Maybe not.

I leave work in like 15 minutes and I don't think I'm anywhere near being done with the install. I'll keep ya posted on how it goes.

Did you manage to get it right? It should be as simple as doing:

apt-get install mysql-server apache libapache-mod-perl libdbd-mysql-perl
